INTRODUCTION
TALLER DE POSTGRAU OFF MASSANA
A project which invites individual research and collective presentation.
The Off Massana workshops are located at El Poble Espanyol. Since 1997, these postgraduate workshops have brought together various disciplines: an interdisciplinary workshop for the visual arts, engraving, jewellery, photography and design.
Since they began, through the various types of work on offer, the annual Off Massana workshops have aimed to develop individual and/or collective projects, research and theoretical reflection in a common space, to promote a free flow between study and the world of work.
The project fosters teamwork, commitment and continuity, together with the creativity and joy of craftsmanship, in a plural training environment.
HOW TO JOIN UP?
The Off Massana postgraduate workshop is open to all students doing their End of Course Project, or who have completed a Training Cycle or University Degree at the Escola Massana the year before.
In order to take part in the workshop, an application must be submitted to the Off Massana administration, together with a proposal of the project that you wish to work on, with the approval of the Head of Department, and a portfolio of recent work.
The Off Massana administration, under the supervision of the corresponding departments at the Escola, will read all the portfolios presented and select the projects to be conducted based on their degree of interest and quality.
WHAT CAN OFF MASSANA OFFER YOU?
Off Massana offers the students selected the opportunity to use its facilities and equipment, located in El Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, to develop their working projects over the course of one year.
During this time, the Off Massana administration will monitor the project.
Those taking part in these workshops have the opportunity to present their work in various exhibitions which, at the same time, aim to open the doors of Off Massana to new participants.
When the workshops have concluded, a joint exhibition is held in various spaces. This end-of-year show aims to open up the professional world of all those taking part, and, reciprocally, to publicise the quality of their work in a professional context.
The Escola Massana, in collaboration with El Poble Espanyol, gives students a certificate of their participation in these workshops, at the end of the year.
